This pedal with a Tube Screamer is a mighty MIGHTY sound!
I put mine after the TS and it changes everything.

Forgot to mention, but yes, sounds good on 9V, sounds even better with 18v. But if you don't have the Xotic voltage doubler, don't worry - still sounds great.

Indeed. Great either way. Luckily, my board's power supply gives me 18v options so I don't have to mess with Xotic's doubler.

RC or AC booster are both great. Spark, LPB-1, and Micro Amp would all do the trick. Z Vex Super Hard On is awesome if you like a sparkle added. I love that pedal. It's a very simple circuit, too, and the laughably cheap Mosky SHO pedal is a dead-on copy of it. I've got two of those.

I found the LPB-1 fattened my tone, which (like the OP) was not what a wanted. I built an Alembic Stratoblaster circuit into a pedal and love it.

I have a Princeton NO Reverb and use an Orange Squeezer clone for boost. The compression is subtle so no bass boost.

For boosting my DRRI I used GE7, a Bad Monkey or a MojoMojo.

I always liked the Bad Monkey best

The EP Booster sounds good, but to me it's not a simple clean boost. So that is something to think about.
It adds a little compression which you may or may not want. It's is reportedly based on the tone from an old EchoPlex unit.

It is definitely modeled after the preamp circuit from a EP-3 Echoplex, so by design it isn't clean. Also has a DIP switch inside to either be flat, have a mid boost, or add at +3db boost when on. I had a Keeley Katana boost before which is ultra clean, and swapped it out for this instead - I like the fact it's not clean...
