Is giving away FREE an entire warehouse full of stuff he has collected over the years on his FB page

The catch is you must pick up in Van Nuys CA

Neat, met him once in 2002. Super nice cat, amazing player. Wonder if it'll include any Dukes of Hazzard stuff, he has quite a collection iirc.

Mind posting a link? All I get are a bunch of fan pages.

    frio frijoles!

just saw Deke Dickerson And The Whipper Snappers last week at an outdoor performance in Alameda CA.

Incredible musicianship by the whole trio, super appreciative audience - loved watching them swap instruments as they played.

fwiw, I don't live the rockabilly lifestyle, but the hep cats were out in droves that day. So many Wrangler Jeans, Poodle skirts, and Pomadors. It was like watching exotic birds fly by.

Still a huge scene up in NorCal then I guess. Most greasers I've ever seen gathered in one spot was at the Mystic (?) in Petaluma, Reverend Horton Heat circa 2001 or so. Also easily the most violent pit I've ever seen. Bouncers lost control of it quickly.

I've seen Deke before right here in Bakersfield. He'd have to promise to meet me himself at the door, and it would have to be a Fender Custom Shop Tuff Dog Tele to get me to hook back up with Facebook, then drive to Van Nuys.

I enjoyed his " Strat in the Attic" books, read both of them... cool short stories mostly about the meeting his pioneer guitar heroes of rock n roll, country and rockabilly also tales of unearthing uber cool oddball and classic guitars of the 50's, 60's and 70's..

He is giving away some very cool rare valuable working gear

He gave away one of the very best Ampex recording units ever made yesterday as an example. The unit was in good shape and had quite a history of bands that recorded on it.

The warehouse was sold and Deke has no where to go with ALOT of stuff

I really enjoyed seeing Deke with Marty Stuart, and Kenny Vaughan. I was being a bit tongue in cheek about Facebook, and the drive to L.A. I think it's great that he is doing what he's doing. If you had ever been to Van Nuys, as I have many times, you'd see the humor in my post. Facebook, that's just not something I will be doing ever again, unless I was going over there with a vacuum truck to pump off a load of their product.

I like Deke. Met him and saw him play once. Got the books, a bunch of his CDs.

I think he has a Merle Travis book in the works

Oh, he gave that away? I saw it was for sale at a grand. That was already a steal.
