    Hi TDPRI Forum,

I'm in an instrumental band called The Frogmen. We just released our debut album "Missing Link" at frogmen.bandcamp.com. It features 10 tracks. The primary guitar on 7 of the tracks is my pine tele partcaster comprised of a Coop repurposed pine body housing a Cavalier Nashville Lion in the bridge slot and a Cavalier Fat Lioness in the neck slot.

The Cavalier pickups shine. They are multi-faceted from surf to rock to soul to psychedelia to twang. The Coop pine body is super resonant, too.

The primary guitar amplifiers were Quilters.

Hope you enjoy some cool instrumentals.

Thanks for the opportunity to post some original instrumentals.

This is great! I especially like the last song--you are all killing it.

    Nice work!!!

Sounds very "analog" - what was your recording/mixing setup?

Thanks and thanks for checking out. We recorded live over two nights. Only 1 song has overdubs ("Crushing Velvet" / Gretsch 6120 straight into a Deluxe Reverb reissue). No partitions. All in the same room. Amps were mic'd. Guitar amp was setup so speaker projected into wall. Open back faced band. Ceiling mics.

When in the studio, I don't like to wear headphones. It's one of several reasons we prefer to record live in the studio. It helps capture the true sound of the band.

On some tracks, the bass was signal was split between two heads. One dirty, one clean. Sometimes both bass tracks were used. Sometimes only one.

The first night was analog. The second night was digital. So I'd say it was 50 / 50 or thereabouts. La La Land studios in Louisville. The house engineer is great.

Enjoyed it so thanks for posting. Love the guitars on Crushing Velvet, in particular. Tape Op magazine recently published an interview with Anne Gauthier. Issue No. 140, Dec/Jan 2020/2021. Check it out.
