What blows me away is that men like you see a finished neck, and you know what to do to get it there. And then you see a guitar.

8 years and all these changes later? You bet

Experience of course helps, but whether it's a guitar or a fence post you have to start with a vision and always be willing and flexible enough to change it.I'm a big fan of NCIS and the Gibbs rules, rule #51,sometimes your wrong ;)

I wish I could Like this twice.
I’m a big fan of Jordan Peterson and his 12 Rules for Life, especially Rule 7: Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient).

Man,the ugly crap I put up with to get maple stability for up to 12 tuners . Don't really like to cover up laminations on the rare occasions I do them, oh well

Hell, I doubt I would LOL.A little explanation,2011was my first build Challenge and afterwards was bit fried.I was new here but had just made a bunch of new friends. There was always a letdown after the Challenges, the excitement and camaraderie were addictive and you missed it after. If for no other reason than to degauss my own coil so to speak, I created this thread. For no particular build really, just a few incompletes and what ifs.It became a hangout similar to The Workbench thread now.I spouted off, gave others the same freedom and we became a little family.Illness a few years later brought my time here and this thread to a halt and in a way illness brought me back. The landscape has drastically changed,a lot of my friends had left and this place was and is some days a pretty boring place to be.Many of my friends were from around the world and I could always look forward to waking up to SOMETHING.
Being my father's son I'm not one to ***** and gripe of just bail. You dig in and be the change that needs to happen.I had several old and some new projects to work on and posted the first one here, this 9 string,The others have their own threads and will have thereafter. When THIS build is over I intend to ask the mods to lock this thread down.Mostly as a example of who and what I am and was to future generations.I DON'T give up,a pretty good message itself

    Peace Dave

Not this shape obviously but these templates allow me to route my slots and drill my tuner holes with precision ;)
