Sorry for the, probably, annoying title, but happy about the fact that I am purchasing a METAL MACHINE!!! Or atleast down payment on it, by Christmas...(link removed)

Anyone got any pictures of Dime playing this? I know he designed it, but did not use it much. I always like to see pictures of Dime playing guitars that he designed that I own/owned.

This is one AMAZING guitar, let me tell you.

Congrats Telekafunkle, I don;t think they get real excited about this stuff around these parts :) I myself have on of the older Washburn Dime Bag models with the lightning bolts on it. I love it! Put a real Bill Lawrence in the bridge and a bridge Duncan Distortion in the neck. I'm also excited as my new Jackson Kelly arrives tomorrow but Have not posted on here. I'll look for some pics for you as I love DBD.

I don't pay terribly close attention to the metal market, but what makes that guitar different than any of the other Dimebag models, aside from the paint job? I don't see the usual tape on the neck p'up, but other than that, what's new?

It's extra-pointy and has a razor-blade image as a 12th fret marker.
Aside from the typical 4 pointed corners on his other models, this one has more jagged features.

To answer your question, I don't think Dimebag got to play a Razorback as it was just starting to be built when he was killed. I know he designed it though.

Yeah, I also don't believe Dimebag ever played a Razorback, if I remember correctly they came out after his untimely death.

I prefer the less pointy versions, but hey, whatever floats your boat. It's a beautiful instrument.

Thanks everyone!

All right...Whats different? Well, literally, its a war machine...I have seen I think 1 picture, (I am probably just imagining him), holding a razorback up, but it wasnt live, and yep, he died just before.

I like Dime's guitars for to many reasons to count: This guitar is over the top, but yet, somehow, so natural.

I have an ML, but its a hardtail, now selling for $299,.

But thanks every (this was not directed at Zep, but his comment was like some other peoples aswell).

Thanks everyone!

Congrats on the new guitar!

I had never played Dean Guitars until I bought one of the Double Neck Hard Tails that they had out a while back.

I must say that I love it. The pickups are just Rude!

One thing, pay attention to the padding in the case. I noticed some small dents on the back of my necks. WTH??? I found that there was no padding (just cloth) on the case where the necks rest.

I called Dean but they said there wasn't much they could do about it since the Guitars were limited run and were made in Korea. I'll just live with dents on my otherwise immaculate Dean.

Dimebag's death was the best thing that ever happen to Dean Guitars. Is that wiki correct, over 30 different Dimebag models today?

I find that a bit too...I dunno. Just doesn't seem right.

Congrats man. Hope you enjoy it. Somebody else in this thread said these types of guitars don't get much notice around these parts, and he's right, but I like 'em. I got into rock and roll and started playing guitar in the 80's. Lots of wild stuff in those days. I never got interested in anything as crazy as the Razorback, but I do enjoy alot of "metal" guitars. Wish I had my old Kramer Baretta back, that was an awesome guitar. I still own an old Charvel, and have owned many Jacksons and other Charvels over the years.

The only Dean that ever really interested me was the Cadillac, I still hope to get hold of one someday. let us know how you like the Razor after you get to spend some quality time with it.

Thanks! I know what you mean: Some things are just to..."Over-the-top"? For some people. I LOVE Charvels, Jacksons and Kramers. Berreta: Classic tone from that beast...Iconic guitar aswell, shame it went.

Right off the bat, I can tell you the neck is very "V", kind of like some stratocasters, which I instantly fell in love with, like most guitars with this neck. Think I may lover the action, but the things SCREAMS! The simple riffs, sounds like insane solos, ;).

Yep, I will defenitaly tell you more. I am VERY excited.

EDIT: Dizi is right! For a second, I was going to flip, until I finished reading. The saying "a person is worth more dead than alive" is true (in the music aspect/industry anyone). Yep, counted like 32 or something, and they came out with yet a new one (from just first glance off their website). This guitar was made in Japan, or another "over-sea country", but is just superb. Dime, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, anyone, there name is marketable.

Dean made A LOT of money off of it, which is fine, because, the premise is the same: (close to what he said in a NAMM interview): "The thing is, about my guitars, is that I can pick up anyone of them off of a shelf, and it will be the same as mine: Thats the awesome thing, unlike b.s. from other companies...". I think Dime would be proud right now, but yep, an extra ATLEAST 20 designed after he died. Thanks for bringing it up, actually a good point.

I was at the local Sam Ash this weekend, and when I walked into the guitar section of the store, one of these Razorbacks was literally the first guitar I saw (which I'm sure was no coincidence). Remembered it from this thread, so had to give it a try. Didn't plug it in, just grabbed a stool and strummed it a bit. Not the worst guitar I ever played. I honestly thought to myself, if Dimebag had been holding this guitar, and had an extra second to react, he could have defended himself. The headstock is so wide and pointy, it's like a pitchfork! Seemed like it would be a real fun guitar for folks into that sorta thing.

Congrats on the Dean! I'm more of a Washburn guy myself. I had a Trendkill Washburn for a while, but don't play metal at all anymore. So i sold it.
