I saw them 5 times in the early 90s, but never did listen to their recordings much, or even bootlegs. They were magical live, and that can’t quite be captured on tape.

So, I’m watching the World Series and something just happened again.

Someone at FOX is a Grateful Dead fan!

They just played West L.A. Fade-away before commercial. A few nights ago they played Althea and on the football game yesterday they played Truckin.

Me like!

I heard West L.A. and love it! I'm a huge Deadhead. I only saw them once with Jerry in 94. I've been to several Dead & Co shows and other offshoots. I have one little fun thing. Back in 2000 I sold some 2" master reels of a Peter Tosh concert from the 1982 Jamaican World Music festival to the Tosh Estate so they could make a live album of it. Peter closed out the 3 day festival with a 7am set that followed the Dead. About 3 years ago I was at a Dead & Co show and one of the vendors on Shakedown St. was playing a bunch of Peter Tosh music. I told the crew I was with about my reels story and one of the girls, who is a lifelong Deadhead couldn't believe that they played in Jamaica before Peter. As I was telling her, it absolutely happened, a guy walks by wearing a Dead JA World Music Fest shirt. Without skipping a beat, I tell her, they did play and here's the shirt! It was one of those typical Dead moments. He was the only guy I saw all day and night with a Dead/Jamaica shirt on. I got a pic with the guy just for my own arkhives. LOVE The Dead and Love Peter Tosh. Unfortunately Peter was not so kind to Jerry when jerry tried to link up with him. He just didn't know.
