If this rule is still in effect.....here if there was a "wild" animal anywhere (in street OR your property) Animal Care would come pick it up. If a "domesticated" animal (I presume dog or cat) they would come get it only if it was on public (not private) property. I heard about some people who would have a pet die, and then drag it out to street, as if it was hit by a car, so city would pick it up. That may have changed, though. I haven't heard in years.

Hang it in a tree, the hawk will come back for the rest.

I wish my town did that! A possum died just underneath my shed door a couple months ago. I had to pay someone to come take it away.

It is kind of me to get his falcons some dinner

He is the guy who says thank you. I live by a nature reserve and any dead animal can easily be transported into the waiting arms of the Lord Jesus Christ by me flinging it over my hedge, to be eaten by the wildlife there

Pardon mon ami, I was not talking about dead animals, but the tasty delights you issue for them. Perhaps since they appear in abundance at the other end of you, it is possible that you didn't realize what a service you were performing for wildlife.

in that state, it won't tow... it would pull apart and be a huge mess and as dumb as the dynamite concept.

I just throw them across the road in the hay field and let the buzzards handle the rest. My dog kills about one possum or mole a week.
