Stole this pic from the CS twitter. It's David picking up his new Esquire.
Looks like he's in for a doctor's appointment.
That kid with the hoodie must be laughing because he/she wiped a booger on it when he wasn't looking. Those crazy kids...
Must be at his Urologists office.
Guitarists aren't the only ones with a finger slide?
Los Lobos RULE!
Maybe his dentist got tired of it?
Wouldn't it be a PRS if it was a dentist's?
Yes! If your a Lobo's fan I don't have to tell you to check out Cesar Rosa's excellent CD Soul Disquise. Been listening to it alot lately. I wish he would do another one.
I am a big Los Lobos fan, but The Latin Playboys stuff is some of my favorite music of all time.
One of the things I love about David is that he goes through phases on gear. I have seen him play Teles, Strats, Firebirds and others I can't remember. Great player and I love that Esquire.
Yup. Saw them a few times in the mid 90's and it was almost all Fender amps and gits. Saw them twice 8 or 9 years ago here in Nashville and it was all LP and Marshalls. They always sound great.
I'm late to the party having first heard them on the Crossroads DVD. I love Hidalgo's playing. Here's a link to an interview from about two years ago:
You're right. Last time I saw them was a street festival in Solana Beach back in '93, and they were definitely in a Fender phase.
Note well that people usually return to mother Fender after a bit of wandering.
Thanks so much for this. I always wondered what guitar he used for that amazing solo on "Jupiter or the Moon." Now I know.
Love this song with David H & the late Duck Dunn
An all-time favourite for me.
Great shot! That's a beauty! Looks like a family moment!
Saw LL years ago at Sioux Falls Jazzfest. Lots of fun!
So.... any youse guys got a copy of Houndog, the side project he did w/ Mike Halby? That CD is dang thin on the ground these days, but definitely worth digging up.
