Where can you buy DVD's of the tour?
right now on ebay
Same here, live 17 times, 18 if you count Hampstead Heath with Syd.
Never saw a solo show however...
I can't find it on ebay - got a link?
Seriously, I was scared to click on this post. Based on the title I was thinking something bad happened.
Thanks for sharing those awesome pics.
I wish i got to see him live my brother saw him a bunch of times
Last saw D.Gilmour play live in 1971, when the Pink Floyd were touring Atom Heart Mother..pre Dark Side of the Moon. Can't remember much, but lots of WEM speakers, HiWatts, and a great version of "Careful with that axe Eugene"
Phil Manzanera...not a bad sideman to have on board...lol
The way I read it the OP has had his "name on the door list", meaning he's seen the show for free.
18 shows still not enough for a floyd fix, I could have gone to a concert a night i liked them so much, but I like you had some great memories!
I got to meet Bob Hickey, Nick masons drum tech for the Delicate sound tour, he sent me a 2 dvd set of all the behind the scenes shinanigans that the tour brought on including the comfortably numb footage for the delicate sound Gilmour solo , so I asked Bob if Tony Levine did any tour dates for that tour he said, no now that would have been a great show Tony and Phil as back up , wow!
FYI dave gilmour is putting together a Live at Pompeii 2 concert video , minus ECHOES, dave stated that was a song for him and Rick to do and with out Rick wouldnot do it , some more video candy for us mere mortals
Gilmour is great but I really loved Syd Barrett. Coolest guy ever.
When I first read it, I thought he meant that the show was amazing because of the bass player and the guest musicians he brought to play with Gilmour.
For want of a comma, the meaning was lost.
Got to see him on the Division Bell tour at the Pontiac Silverdome and feel fortunate to have seen that. I believe that concert was the first time they played Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety since 1972. DG will always be one of my favorites!
You might want to listen to this.
Scroll to 12 mins and you'll hear CNumb at it's finest...rest of the show is also on my soundcloud- just look for it
Just to add- that is the greatest version of CNumb I've ever heard.
IDK man, The old bird has been threatening to hang it up for the last 10 years now, I'll think he'll take a break and write a bunch of new material, then once finished be itching to get back out and play live again, Seems to be his modus operandi, I got to see him on the WYWH, Animals, Wall and MLOR tours,
I saw Floyd in '73 in Buffalo NY during the DSOTM Tour. That's how I prefer to remember them. What I recall that was a first, was the quadraphonic PA system. When they did Money, the cash register sounds were circling the arena. No one else touring back then had done this, that I know of.
