Saw something that sent me down a Kate Bush rabbit hole and found this interesting video. Gilmore playing what was synth parts in the original.

oops on the date, has to be the 80s, bass player haircut.

Is that Matt Seligman playing bass? I like that kooky guitar Gilmour is playing.

    Thanks for posting.

Kate Bush is my absolute musical hero. She is talented and creative beyond words. There may never be another like her.

Love HRH Kate, such a brilliant performer and back-catalogue.

Was able to see her in the Before the dawn series of concerts 2013... Fantastic show with Omar Hakim on drums

Big fan. I believe Dave Gilmore had something to do with "discovering" her. I know he produced a couple of tracks on her first album.

I think it's Tony Franklin on bass?

    1987.

Kate is a very special and unique talent. DG was very involved with getting Kate a recording deal.

Remember the album cover for "The Dreaming"?

    That was special.

I had an old postcard I bought at a record store in the 80s, of her dressed as her Babooshka character. Never mailed it to anyone. Lol. babooshka.jpg

    Love Kate.
Tony Franklin's hair is incredible too.
Actually I like his bass tone better than Gilmour's guitar tone on this.

Yep, it was in the 80s, maybe early 90s at the latest. Not only does the bassist have the ultimate mullet, but Gilmore also had hair...

This is also one of those songs I watched about every cover on Y/T - Placebo has a great cover. Also, thanks to the TDPRI, I found every cover of the Stranglers Golden Brown. Doesn't get much better than this one:

I'm still knocked sideways that she came out with that first album in 1978, when you think of the competition that came out around then, and it still cut through.

    She was 19.

It's a great shame that she didn't do more live performances, but she is a genius-level talent.
