    Hi People,

I just got a Telecaster Elite that has a neck PU tone similar in a certain way, to those vintage strats and i was kickin around to approach that mytical Gilmour tone, on Shine on You Crazy Diamond.

Here's the trial with Telecaster elite, Axe FX II

Please tell me what you think.
You are invited to post your best Floyd tones here too :)

    Thank you.

It sounds pretty close, Miguel. I don't have any clips but I know a local guy who
has a Strat loaded with the EMG DG20 pups and he seems to nail it pretty well.

    Thanks Mike.
The preset has an Hiwatt amp modelling and just a small amount of crunchy overdrive, phaser, chorus, plus a generous amount of compressor, delay and reverb.

Sounds pretty good! As a recent helix owner I’m able to get some Gilmore tones that sounds good to my ears.

    I think it’s quite convincing.

That sounds good ! The tone is pretty darn good but more convincing is your bends and vibrato, that is where the gilmour lives.

The only thing I would say is maybe the delay repeats are alittle loud but it’s fine the way it is anyways...to me the feel is the most important and it sounded like David to me, which as we all know is hard to do. Sounds great mr

Plus being a tele is mega cool, people online always complain about tele neck pickups. That sounds great and with that nice vibrato you could probably sound like David with any tone

Sounds awesome man. You nailed it - great playing! Won’t bother attempting it myself, I’m not that good. :(

Great playing! You've really got the Gilmour feel down. If you want to get closer on the sound, add a little compression, take off a little crunch, and shift the reverb blend to less dry and more reverb.

Very well done , sounds like you had alot of fun doing that
your tone is almost spot on and you got a lot of Dave's chops down fairly well

    I really like your playing.
I'm thinking a bit more compression and a bit more mids. Maybe a tad less grit. Loads more reverb—and wider. Have you seen www.gilmourish.com?

here's the most subtle Gilmour-style guitar part that I've ever tracked on an original tune. It is designed to sit in the mix as 'texture.' When we do it live though all bets are off on holding back :)

oh sorry!!! it's been so long since I posted that I wasn't aware youtube links were not allowed, please feel free to kill this, Moderators. :)
