Darn those dishes in the sink! Just say no, don't do 'em.

Found the Ninja blender blade the bad way.

1.5" slice on top of my left middle finger, right over the knuckle. Missed the nail, barely.

Blood on the Tele.........I don't think so.

Just got finished doing the dishes. Wish I had read this out loud to my wife first. She would have reminded me to be careful and get back to work.:)

I'm just now recovering from a torn tendon in my fretting hand middle finger. Two months no picking.

Better than when I cut the **** out of my fretting hand index finger to the knuckle bone. Couldn't bend it 90 degrees for over 6 months. 14 months no picking.

Mrs. B and I share the kitchen duties - she cooks and I clean up. Last year I sliced my thumb pretty good washing one of those blade things and it bled like crazy.

Now when she uses something like that for food prep she does that part of the washing herself. I guess my whining and moaning paid off!

Gotta wear gloves.. I only really get to practice at night.. no sense in having fingers that have been soaked in water... it makes my fingers soft and then playing isn't so great.

(Also been having problems with allergic reactions to the soap in the last few years, but good rubber gloves really do help if you're going to play later.)

I sliced my right index finger on a pairing knife washing dishes in April. Went to emergency room to get five stitches. Total of hospital bill was $1025!!! UNBELIEVABLE!

Ouch! I think I've been there too.

I'll start off by saying, I don't do any dishes someone else has started. Its important to know whats in there. I do a lot of dishes around these parts.

Hope you heal up real soon, Slash:)

I sliced the tip almost off my ring finger left hand in a kitchen accident the day I was playing a support for Little Charlie and The Nightcats about 20 years ago.

Four stitches and a finger splint later I played the gig but luckily in that band I was not playing guitar. Vocals and blowing harp. It looked like I was giving the audience the bird every time I blew harp.

Nerve tenderness in that fingertip is still not completely resolved even now and I can't really bend strings with it. It totally changed my technique. Be careful guys.

I volunteer at the local school doing band/guitar stuff and working in the kitchen making lunches a few days a week.....

I do a lot of washing up/pre rinsing for the dishwasher.. and chopping food.... I've never cut myself on a knife but there's a certain food processor that I always manage to slice a fingertip on the circular disc blade washing it up or putting it back in the machine....

I'm uber careful on that item, yet somehow manage to knick my finger,,, dohhhh.. I just touched it!.... slice....

the women keep me way from that machine and it's parts now...... trev, don't you dare wash those blades today.... yes ma'am....

I don't worry much about sticking myself with a knife while doing dishes, I've stuck myself enough times in the past that I have developed a sixth sense for sharp objects. What does bother me about doing the dishes is that it dries out the callouses on my fingers, and can cause cracks after they dry. After washing dishes, I put some Cetaphil lotion on my hands.
