Watch those sausages fly
I always like this one. Hmmm... it's a bit wilder than the version he recorded with Delbert McClinton. Good stuff!
It's my fave piece of his. Even though it's an homage, I appreciate that more than anything else I've heard from him. What can I say, I'm a rockabilly guy at heart. And really so was Danny, I think
He was a great *interpreter* of rockabilly while spinning it with his own licks and techniques.
Saw this live, back in the day, hell of a player, a real phenom.
Quick props to Danny's band, '90's version- Danny was fantastic, but he had an amazing band that kept right up, with him, monster players
Billy Windsor- lead vocals and Telecaster
Bill Holloman- AMAZING!! Sax, Keyboardist, and vocals
Tim Biery - drums/percussion
John Previtti- upright and electric bass
somewhere around here, I have the VHS tape of him playing this on Austin city limits and it blows this version to pieces, IMO.
for all this man's world class ability, somehow it wasn't enough for him.
