I recently purchased a Danelectro Free Speech talkbox. I have not purchased replacement tubing or a real microphone yet.

Apart from using it as a talkbox with a real microphone, how else can I use the Free Speech? Can I split my guitar output into two separate effects chains and then use the Free Speech's microphone jack to re-combine the chains for some weird sounds?

Any other suggestions for non-talkbox setups?

The free speech doesn't blend the mic input with the dry signal, so no, you can't use it to combine 2 separate fx chains.

But there's no reason the tube has to be in your mouth all the time. Stick it I front of a fan for some tremolo-esque sounds. Hang it in a 5 gallon bucket and crank the growl control for trashy washed out reverb. You can also cut a hole in a shoe box and stick the tube inside for a more conventionally useable reverb sound. Need to record a distorted guitar part while the kids are sleeping? Turn off your amp, put an overdrive in front of the FS and mic the end of the tube.

Ah. That bit of knowledge spares me from a lot of frustration. :)

    Thanks for those suggestions!
