I've seen threads for previous years but not for this year's show. Is anyone headed to the Dallas show this year?

My brother and I are leaving this afternoon to catch the show opening tomorrow and hope to check out the concerts as well as the show inside Market Hall. I've had my eye on the show for a few years but it finally came together to attend this year.

Safe travels down I35!

I am hoping to attend but don't know if I will get to it. Maybe Saturday but we shall see.

I went to Arlington last year.

VERY disappointing.

I’m out of town this weekend, or I’d be at the Dallas show. I have the itch to address some GAS, and a few pieces I want to add to the Guitarsenal.

Man I'd sure like to be able to go. If anyone finds a deal on an early 50's Tele, something around 1000, pick it up for me would ya? ;) I'd really dig a Broadcaster... just sayin'

Those Guitars are mighty 'spensive.
YEP!!!
Amen!
I go to guitar shows to gawk, mostly.
I have bought guitars, notably a pine-caster that looked cool, but sounded awful, and a gold top reissue.
You sometimes get to see the odd(!) rock star.
Not this time, but I’ve seen Marilyn Manson, Rick Derringer and Eric Johnson at em’
I had fun, but it was a 7 hour round trip.
I’ll never have the kind of money needed to buy that kind of stuff.
I actually only stayed an hour.
I am glad I went.

I was there on Saturday afternoon. I'm the one on the right at the Alsip Guitars booth:

Heritage Auctions had George Harrison's 1958 "Ransom" Les Paul in a glass case -- story behind it here:

They also had Paul McCartney's 1988 southpaw LP Custom:

1958 Stratocaster for sale at Terry Mueller's booth:

Note surprisingly flamey neck for a Leo-era Strat:

Outside, there was plenty of live music, including the Ally Venable Band:

Ally is a great player, as demonstrated by her serious guitar face:

Somebody would have to follow me around to wipe-up all of my drool.
