Daisy rock has some innovative marketing ideas, good for them they're trying to attract youth to the musical instrument...good idea. What's even better about their actions is they are creating an entirely different sounding line of instruments. I record quite a bit in studios or anywhere really.. and I've used a few of these guitars and have enjoyed the sounds, I had to set them up of course, but that's no bigge to me. I thought they were pretty genius, and if anything becomes collectible from this era of instruments, it will be these, because they are so specific and not many around.....I thonk they're pretty cool. The half tele half SG is a great sounding guitar.. don't knock it until you try it. Oh and that Hollowbody is also a good sounding guitar, it sounds like a hollowbody.

Daisy Rock makes great guitars. I highly recommend them. My Mojo Jojo guitar was built by Daisy Rock. It's surprisingly good for a cheap guitar.

Hi Pete, I used one of those to record recently, it sounded pretty good. I especially like the double cutaway model that looks like an old Hamer, that one sounds great for hard rock, super smooth and plays like a lespaul junior....I was floored.

Is it easy to get it over there?

I envy you guys cos anything above low end is difficult to acquire here.

An american standard tele/strat cost 1.3k-1.4K US here.
Each shop usually only has 1 american strat OR tele.
1 or 2 MIM standard tele OR strats. (pre upgrade) (US550-600)
The rest of fender's stuff are all squires.

Even the squires here cost about US300-350 and they are made probably a boat's ride away.

prices for Amps from marshall and fender are through the roof.
I asked about a blue's junior here 3 months ago, it costs US600-850.

this guitar sounds great!

I used one of these recently, I was shocked at how it played and sounded. I loved it, feels like an old LP Junior and a hamer... definately cool guitar for hard rocking music. And that half tele half SG guitar sounds fantastic, I did some chicken pikcin riffs on it just messing around with it and I thought it sounded really good. I may buy one of those that's how much I liked it.

So you're not a 10 year old girl who fancies liz phair. What's new?

Nothing, just that i find it VERY unusual that cartoon characters can be found on guitars. Exactly the same goes out to the squire line with cartoon characters.

Weird thing is, even though I see them in shops (squire ones) No one seems to buy it.

Maybe its cos of the culture here, girls usually play piano from young if they ever play a musical instrument.

Girls see these in Disney movies and want them. So I don't think it is a bad thing. As a matter of fact I bought both my daughters a Daisy Rock short scale guitar for Xmas 2005 (they look cute as could be strumming them). The problem is that the guitars that I bought for them are as heavy as boulders. Because they live in the US and I live in France, I haven't compared the weight to my guitars, but I would swear they are heavier than every guitar I own. I wish I had bought either the Fender or Squier short-scale Strats for them because at least then my girls could lift the guitars.

I trust that's AFTER they've been taught how to cook, clean and use an ironing board, etc?......

Many girls here can't cook.

I can assure you guys of one thing, and I've never seen or played a daisy-rock guitar...........They're 1000000000000% better than the squire strat I bought my kid. It's an absolute piece of junk that I wish I'd never seen. You get what you pay for I guess...............

My 6 year old daughter wants one. I figure, as long as it keeps her from knocking my Tele around it'll be worth it. Dad will have to give it a go too of course.

Every Daisy Rock guitar I've played has been good. There was a Daisy Rock electric 12-string at GC awhile back for $299 that is the best electric 12 I have played. As to the look of their guitars, I like them, and I am well over 16! And actually have been thinking of getting a Squier Hello Kitty Strat for the sheer fun of it! OK, I'm ready for the flames!

How about the Martin with Felix the Cat? I don't get it at all. But someone must be buying them.

You're the first I know that would buy one, niche market I'd say.

Never seen anyone own one though.

299 for a 12er is a good deal I must say so!

Tho the hello kitty strat is like a LP/esquire in that it has 1 pup but only a volume control.

Have you ever played it before?

Yep, I played one at NAMM here in Austin last July. It was a nice little guitar.
