A good friend of mine just bought a new all black CVC and I love the look but can't find much info. They seem to be rare. It plays like a dream and looks classy too.

Thanks jbmando, the Sweetwater site has great pics. It plays just like my three tone sunburst but it is a little bit lighter. Very nice guitar.

The all black models look really classy! I want one too but cannot afford the GAS right now. :(

I can't really either, but I love my sunburst CVC and I've always wanted it in black. They're £310 in the UK ($485) but I snagged a nearly new one for £250. Ker-ching!

It's going to get the all-black treatment like this one:

Great example of all black! :D I'm considering black tuners and knobs, too.

I tried this guitar in a local shop today with a view to buying one in the sunburst finish which retails here for £328 new ($506.83). This model was listed at £309 ($477.47) new.

I had an Affinity Strat about 14 years ago that was absolutely terrible so I was a bit skeptical about the reviews these get. But this looked, played and felt absolutely amazing. The neck was amazing, Squier have really stepped up their manufacturing of these guitars.

I already own the CVC in sunburst. This one looked so great in pics. Then I saw it in the store. It is really nice but I settled it in my mind that I don't need it that badly. Ill keep telling myself that.

Mine is here, and the pickguard arrived 10 minutes after it! Slightly crummy pix taken quickly in the office:

Very happy with it, except that the rosewood board is a bit pale and dry compared to my 3TSB one. I'll give it a drink of lemon oil tonight, but I might stain it as well to make it nice and dark.

Incidentally, the white guard is just that - white. Mint would have looked much nicer IMO.

The joy of a 5 screw pickguard - you can swap them in seconds:

Mint green forever, plain white never!

I bought one from Sweetwater shortly after they came out, Esquired it, and swapped in the neck from my 50's Classic:

It was a nice guitar as-is, but the CVC neck is too skinny for my tastes.

It reminds me of the LesPaul Custom...the tuxedo look

It's so classy looking. Black and shiny, like a piano. In fact it makes me want to buy a piano to go with it!

Of those looks above, I greatly prefer the blacked out one with the RW board. Beautiful!

Yeah, it's exactly the look I was after.

However, I'm 50/50 on the black headstock. Sometimes I think it looks nice, other times I wish it had a normal one. I might swap in the neck from my sunburst next time I change strings and see how it looks.

    What do you think?

    Looks fantastic Tony. Congrats.

Personally I'd leave it as you have it right now and play that neck darker - though I think your oiling already helped there.
    Top stuff.

My word Squier is producing some beauties these days (again).
