I submit that I probably have the heaviest CV 50's Tele on the forum - 11.9 lbs!

    Anybody else's come close?...

    Mine is 7lb 9oz

When you say 11.9lb do you mean 11lb 9oz or 11lb 14.4 oz ? Either way it is a real super-heavyweight.

    My CV50's VB is 7lbs 13oz.

How are you getting the 11.9 lbs on a digiital bathroom scale?

Get the weight of some of your other guitars if possible so we can see how they compare.

Yep, it's incredibly heavy. A lot heavier than my Les Paul even!

My partscaster with a Stewmac ash body is only 7 3/4 lbs. Isn't the CV50's a pine body? You're in the Les Paul zone with that baby. Keep a chiropractor on retainer if you gig much.

OK, I weighed it again just now on the digital bathroom scale, and this time it weighed in at 10.4 lbs... I guess I did the math wrong (?) the last time I weighed it..

(I weigh myself first, then grab the CV 50's and add the extra weight). I.E., I weigh 179.0, then my wife handed me the tele and the scale read 189.4...

    Still a heavy CV 50's!

    Yes, pine body on these.

I bought a super heavy-duty wide leather strap for it - That helps, but it's still a heavy sucker!

Bathroom scales can be out. I've used the local FedEx office a couple of times. They don't seem to mind weighing guitars. Their scales are very accurate. 11.9 lbs sounds very heavy for a pine body. Had a Kubicki tele years ago with a solid maple body...that was a heavy beast.

If you hoist it and it feels heavy, it probably is, but I don't think most bathroom scales are accurate down that low.

Nope, don't gig with this one - due to the weight. I mostly SIT with this one on my lap at home... But it sounds great!

Mine was 8 lb 3 oz, but now with a chunky Squier '51 neck is 8 lb 8 oz. Just fine.

    (using a digital postal scale)

I doubt your bath scale method is working. Go to a UPS store and plop it on their scale at the counter. Just say you're there to test their scale's accuracy ;o)

Well, you could be right about that - my wife insists this bathroom scale is not accurate - "weighs too heavy"... :p

(However, it seems to weigh pretty accurately to me... ha)

Yeah, I'll do that - at either a UPS or FedEx - I'm curious now... Because, as I said, this is one heavy CV 50's..

Our digital bathroom scale does list the digital (like 11.9, 10.4, etc.) - -

I'll weigh my LP and some others and see what it comes up with..
