I ran across a used cherry one for sale at GC. Flame top? Mahogany Body? Maple cap? Cream binding? Set neck? Std Humbuckers? 16" radius? Strat bridge?

I hadn't seen one before and my first thought was, "What Fresh Hell is this?" But it does have a 25.5 neck with a narrow nut. So only 92% of the way to playing an LP.

I have the amber one and it never really did anything for me until I put a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge position and moved the Pearly Gates to the neck. Now it has a super rock tone paired with a huge creamy neck voice and I love this guitar so much now. lol It's nowhere near a "real" tele to me, but it's a great guitar!

I have a G&L version that I put humbucker sized TV Jones classics in and it is great.

I saw one recently and was thinking I could see getting one eventually, but I've got a couple of more important acquisitions to make first (PRS CE24 and a Gibson TV Yellow LP Special😁).

Only thing I see with the FMT HH is I'd probably want to replace the bridge humbucker. It's a SD Pearly Gates+ and I had one in my Lonestar Strat and it was a very uninspiring pickup IMO. It's got a SD '59 in the neck; I'd probably just pop a '59 in the bridge too.

I sold mine a couple of years ago. Very nice guitar but I already had an SG and tone wise they seemd to be pretty much the same stuff.

I got mine in 2007 Used; about $450 IIRC.
Really like the build quality, the finish. I even like the stock (Fender Special) S-D pups RWRP SH-1 neck and Pearly Gates Plus (Actually just an overwound SH-1). I really like the way they sound coil-tapped - I'm an acoustic player at heart.
I christened her Cherry (how original!).

I went with "Maybe if I have all the other Teles I need". I wouldn't buy it to be used like a Telecaster because it would certainly never sound nor feel like one. That said .... if I liked it and wanted it because it was different and would be good for playing a type of music I was currently into I'd do it.
