Picked this up earlier this year when my son was born. Wanted to get him a guitar that would one day be his from his birth month. Man, I've played a lot of CS guitars through the years but this one has some mojo. I swapped the threaded saddles for some steel saddles I had around and threw a set of Ron Ellis Broadcaster / Mid-Tall pickups in (the stock HW '58's were great, but when you have your favorite set of pups sitting in a drawer why not).

It's probably the most resonant guitar I've ever owned acoustically. It rings and rings and has a great sparkle. Plugged in it just tears. I may have a hard time giving this one up in a few decades ;)

    - Neck Profile 59 Large C
    - Compound Radius 7.25 to 9.5
    - AAA Rosewood Fretboard
    - Journeyman Gold Sparkle Double Bound with Darker Sides

Wow! I don’t normally go for gold, but there is nothing about that guitar that I don’t love. Treat it right!

Awesome! I'm becoming a sucker for Sparkle finishes - but sparkle with double binding is blowing my mind

I had commented your post already, but received the email with the popular threads and had to look at the pictures again! It is really a very desirable guitar.
BTW I would be really curious to know your opinion on how the stock HW 58 bridge pickup compares to the Broadcaster you replaced it with.
I guess the latter has A3 magnets and 43awg wire. The stock 58 should have A5 but I’ve read somewhere that it has A3 as well, and I cannot find any info on the Fender website. Thanks!
