R&B music is a big influence on me. I was lucky enough to hear this music at the time it was released. Curtis Mayfield made this Soundtrack a masterpiece.

    Good movie...and a great soundtrack!

I love those old Blaxploitation movies...cheesy b-movie fun with some really killer soundtracks.

Curtis Mayfield had a big influence on Jimi Hendrix early on. I likes me some Curtis Mayfield.

Super Fly was one of my all time favorite albums growing up. I didn’t really understand why at the time - I never saw or cared about the movie, but I used to listen to that all the time from when it came out (I’m guessing I was about 12-13). I think my parents were wondering what was up with that. But I’ve gone on to love Curtis Mayfield on every kind of musical level and that was the album that grabbed me and pulled me in. It’s still on my phone and now my wife wonders why I like it so much...

Edit: Just checked when it came out - I'd just turned 13. Don't forget "Little Child, Runnin' Wild", "Give Me Your Love", and "No Thing On Me", in addition to the better know tracks Youtube'd above. Just listened to the whole thing again this morning. What a great album.

Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle would be nothing without this album :)
