In Antarctica?? Not really… according to timeanddate.com the next sunrise at Vostok Station is 20th August, and the day will last a whole 12 minutes…

A young gal I know from my former workplace made a trip to Antarctica last year.
She's single, and loves to travel to exotic places.
I recall her going on vacations to Vietnam before, as well as Scotland, New Zealand, and a place called 'Florida'.
Anyway, last I saw her, she said that Antarctica was a real adventure, and she loved it.

In December and January it can actually be warmer there than in some places here, 30's and 40s. But that's when the insects become a problem down there...

I have two exes whose hearts would feel right at home there.
A friend of mine, a process operator at the plant, retired last year. Like a lot of guys who worked out there for decades, he apparently wasn't hurting for money. When asked about his plans, his immediate reply was travel, including a trip to Antarctica. The weather app people should use the term “Clear” rather than “Sunny” in this context perhaps! On the other hand since only 10s of people are affected it’s probably a low-priority defect for them…
