Anyone have, or is familiar with, the current Ford Mustang convertible?
Myself and Mrs R are heading across the pond soon for a little road trip. We were going with friends and so booked a rental Ford Taurus but now our friends have had to bail out because of illness. With just the 2 of us it seems a good idea to try to switch to a Mustang convertible.
What I need to know is can you get 2 airline compliant suitcases in the trunk of a Mustang?

Not gonna guarantee but I’d say yes. I rented one a few years ago when we visited SF before moving here... our luggage fit fine; we had one large checked bag, one overhead sized bag, and a couple of laptop bags. If you’re talking two overhead compliant suitcases... definitely. The rear seat is useless so if it’s just two of you... toss the extras back there.

Given the exterior dimensions you’d think it’d be an actual grand tourer with a massive boot, but nope. Still think you’re gonna be alright.

Do you have a measurement of the 2 suitcases? The trunk of my 2014 measures 33”deep by 52”wide by 15”high approximately
I wouldn’t promise that they would fit without knowing the exact size of the bags although there is also a little bit of room in the back seat
I’m not sure about newer models

    If it's not a '65 or a '69, I'd rather have a Mustang guitar.

I had a '13 for a couple of years and just looked... both models sit at 13.4 cu ft, which seems impossible given how much space they had to regain by going away from the LRA suspension. I felt like our rental '15 or '16 model had a slightly larger volume, but might've just been the way it was laid out.

I'm guessing this is a 2017 but should be similar

IMHO what won't fit in the trunk it will fit in the back seat.

OK, rent a minivan, pick up some pawn shop gear and hit some jam sessions. That's gotta be more fun than driving on the wrong side of the road in a testosterone symbol. I'm curious why we came over here and started driving on the right. Weird, huh? Maybe it has to do with drawing a pistol vs a sword?
