I'm at my limit at 20.

    4 Thinline Teles
    4 Strats
    2 Thorns
    2 EBMMs
    6 Gretsches
    1 Jaguar
    1 Jazmaster

Oh, and a Bass VI, but I count that as a bass.

All you guys implying my collection is too large-

you should probably sell all your guitars, and just rent one when you need it :)

Just think with all of that money you squandered on guitars, you could have bought a really nice accordion!

If you sold off all of that stuff, you could cover both bases. Buy a good set of clubs, and buy a country club home.:lol::lol:

Fifteen or sixteen I think. They all have different sounds so I switch between all of them.

I get what you're say for sure.

The fact was I had about $7-8K tied up in those 35+ low-med quality guitars.

    That was just really insane.

I'm not a snob, but I'll only buy good quality USA or MIJ guitars, I can find REALLY good deals on.

The way I look at it, is if in a year of playing,I don't bind with the guitar, I can sell it for profit.

I really don't like losing money on any guitar I buy, and that's why I stick with USA and MIJ.

In my personal experience with buying and selling, if I buy the guitars are VERY good prices, I won't lose any money at all, and in most cases make a profit.

When I sold off my 35+ low-med quality MIK, MII, or MIM guitars, I was lucky to get back what I paid for them, and in most cases lost a little moving them.

Yeah. I buy mostly used. There are exceptions, like the brand new Framus Idolmaker I picked up for like a quarter of normal, because it had a bad switch. :)
It just takes persistence and patience to get stuff at your price-point

I love the pics, nice wide variety you have. I thought I had a bunch of gear til this. 12 guitars "mainly U.S. besides the 2 Japanese, 4 are vintage Fenders and 1 is a Vintage Vox Spitfire" 8 amps, 1 bass, bass amp, synthesizer, Yamaha Organ, upright piano, 8 piece Tama Maple kit. 25 mic's or so, recording gear. A few other odds and ends like 10 or 12 pedals etc plus my daughters guitar and ukulele. My 2 car converted garage studio/jam room is pretty full and has slowly been bleeding out into my living room with 2 guitars in it so far. I couldn't imagine 6 dozen guitars although I am not opposed to it. Little jealous is all. Cheers

I know, you can't quit at anytime, well maybe just one more. More importantly, how many bag pipes do you own?

No addiction is more addicting than music gear addiction.

It depends on how you count basses, cigar box guitars and other similar stringed instruments. Some are out on semi-permanent loan as well as assorted parts waiting to be assembled. I think it's probably around 60 now. I thought it was less but I did some counting recently and found out I had a few I had forgotten about as well.

Here's the "first string" along with some others I recently dug out to work on or to shuffle into my rotation...

The only correct answer to that question is “three.”

Enough to be plausible, not enough to cause concern.
