Help me Rhonda and
Sloop John B
This is pretty typical of the ear worms posts here -- these two songs were released in 1965 and 1966, so more than 50 years ago. Is there something about older songs?
Ear worms. Only cure I know is heavy metal.
Those Barney songs used to get stuck in my head when the kids were young. Heavy metal - scared them right out.
My ear worm is:- I once had a girl or should I say she once had me.
From the song Norwegian Wood, a song I've never really liked and a song I've never learned.. S
I blame Netflix, Steve Carell...I only watched one episode and got bored. But then went and watched this video about 30 times in the last few days. this was a severe earworm that I totally forgotten about for 45 years.
my earworm is me singing out loud, walking down to the mailbox every day.

I actually looked at my neighbor and said....I wanted to be a space man that's what I wanted to be.

Let’s see, I was born a Beatles baby and was weaned on the Ed Sullivan Show. Earliest memories was of the British Invasion and Surf Music.
Beach Boys music is fairly simple to play, excluding the genius of Brian Wilson’s arranging. So I can play the music on keyboards and guitar even with my limited skills. Lol
That’s my excuse, as far as the balance of the older songs for the other members? I’m guessing demographics. Maybe the Tele populous is older on average.
I woke up in the middle of the night singing this in my head, and haven't been able to get rid of it. It's been years since I heard it, so I have no idea why.
Today it’s the Dukes of Hazzard theme. Last week it was Naughty Girls Need Love Too. Heading in the right direction?
Mine came courtesy of the Train wreck music video thread...
But our ears didn't shut down in 1966. We continue to listen to new music. Why are the earworms mainly old?
I watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with my kid the other day, so...
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Bang Chitty Bang Bang
Baby shark, anyone?
I'm very fortunate to have a rapid load earworm installation tool.
They stay until they get replaced, but replacement is easy.
Woke up with some alt rock tune then listened to a new release Tom Petty home recording posted on the TDPRI and that's currently running.
...you don't know how it feels...
And for me it has nothing to do with old time tunes, for which I'm very grateful!
That's pretty bad.
I work with special needs students and I came home back in February singing that after watching it on video a few times with the kids. Didn't bother me, but my girlfriend was not happy.

Oh I've had the Baby Shark problem too.
The funniest time though was my son, who often hums songs while he is playing Legos across the hall from my office; I overheard him singing/humming Baby Shark to the tune of Iron Man.
Baby Shark Dun dun dundundundundun dun dun dundun... Great mashup!
