I have a very specific use case, where I would like to power a 12v pedal, using my BBE SupaCharger, however it needs more than the 100ma that the 12v outputs can provide. I know from research and experience that I can use a current doubler cable (i.e. the one from VooDoo Labs for their PP series of power supplies) to take for instance two 9v 100ma outputs and give a pedal access to 9v 200ma, or even connect a 9v 100ma and a 9v 200ma output with the cable to give the pedal access to 9v 300ma.
What I'm wondering is, can I use that same doubler cable to connect both a 12v 100ma output and a 9v 200ma output to provide 12v 300ma… or will the mismatch between voltage cause a problem…
I know the simplest and safest option (which is what I'll do if I can't find convincing information to the contrary) is to just use a separate wall wart with the appropriate rating for the pedal… but for simplicity and cleanliness of my pedalboard I would obviously like to avoid that (and to avoid buying a new power supply for my board…).
Hoping someone here can help me understand the science/physics of what would be happening…
