... are they staggered or not ?

I've had enough with the wooly / ice pick unbalance of a neck P90 and a bridge single coil on my mahogany Tokai tele, and i have a chance to get a CS Texas Special set for cheap.

My deilemma is that i use a wound G and i am afraid of string unbalance if the pole pieces are NOT staggered.
Since it seems impossible to remove a tele neck PU cover ...

    Thanks guys for any info.

    Cheers

get the Texas specials, Texas specials are extremely nice, and perhaps stop using a wound G?

The B string is where the stagger seems to be. G string is definitely quite bright in general,

Thanks but i think you misread.

I am talking about the NECK pu. ^ ^

I know Texas specials and i love them.

I just want to know whether the hidden pole pieces of the neck pu are staggeredt or not.

Regarding G strings, if you use a .019 from Thomastik, you stilll can bend and live in happiness regarding intonation.
i am more into jazz and funk than rock and country. That's why i'm a convert with the wound G, but it's a different debate anyway.

TX special neck cover can be removed, with care to keep the tabs away from the windings.
The pole pieces are indeed flat.

Probably not worth the trouble/risk of removing cover. The sonic difference is minimal.
