    Hi,

Have recently acquired a Nocaster. It's great. Was reading up about the evolution of the telecaster in guitarist magazine and found a bit about 1954 telecasters being the first with top hat switch tips.

I have one fitted to the Nocaster I have. Would this be an error somewhere? Or is it part of the relic process (to simulate loss)?

I'm sure the previous owner didn't change it and it's as it was when it left the factory.

Just curious. Has anybody else seen this before?

    Thanks.

It is always possible your 2018 Nocaster came from the factory with a tophat switch tip. However, it would be period incorrect to have a tophat switch tip on a Telecaster prior to 1956, but the Custom Shop offerings are not always period correct.

Thanks both, I guess it will remain a mystery. Great guitar though, am loving the telecaster experience.
