I have a 52 2016 CS NOS Tele wot is GREAT........but I noticed that the cutaway is not smooth and circular all the way round to the neck but has a subtle yet noticeable little "ridge" just before the neck pocket. Is this normal for a CS 52?

I had a look at some non CS Teles in the store today and the cutaway on all of these models was smooth and perfectly round shaped all the way to the neck.....

If you mean the little ledge along the side of the neck pocket, this is how it would have been in '52, and the CS has got the very same detail. There is also a flatter spot there in the cutaway, also correct for the year. AKA "Router hump."

You may be seeing the infamous "Router hump" which is correct for that period! The CS does it very accurately.
