    Hi folks!
I'd like a bit of advice please - picked up a cheep Cry Baby Wah today and am about to change the DPDT switch, no dramas there, however when surfing the parts supplier website I note there are 3 different value pots available…

    1. Dunlop ECB24A Hot Potz 470K
    2. Dunlop ECB24A Hot Potz II 100K
    3. Dunlop ECB24C Hot Pot 105Q 20K Potentiometer

All listed as Original Dunlop replacement part….

I have no idea which I have currently, but Im an idiot regarding pot values etc so what difference would the different pots make?

    Cheers!

    Paul

Number one is the original. Hot potz is an 'upgrade', the other I think is for a Bass CB.

Member Joe Gagan here has some trick pots he sells and he's a wah specialist. He modded my Ben Wah for me and it sounds great. If you PM him or email him he is a wealth of information on wahs and a real nice guy to boot.

oh, and for a quick reference on the basic differences in wah taper , please read my article below. also , keep in mind the large majority of wah pots are 100k. there are exceptions, but generally , most wahs don't change (much) when you go from 100k to 250k to 500k. there are caveats, but that is the general thing to keep in mind. also , the 20k wah pot listed for dunlop is their more modern, 2nd version bass wah, which is a VERY different circuit than the guitar wahs.
