Which movie is the better picture?

Crossroads - Archetypal TGP member Ralph "Lightnin' Boy" Martone predates the relic craze by purchasing a guitar "just because it was beat up". The fedora wearing bloozeman also buys a booteek Pignose featuring vibrato and "pays his dooze" in various headcutting situations.

I don't remember how it ends but some memorable quotes include:

This is a Mississippi string tie. It's what a bloozeman wears down in these parts!

Everyone knows Muddy Watters vented lectricity!

All I need is a Mississippi string tie and I'm ready to roll! (when Lightnin' Boy gets his fodera)

Lighting Boy and Blind Dog? Who the hell are you guys? (Jamie Gertz when encountering the pair)

Eddie and The Cruisers II - I am using Part 2 because I'm a little more familiar with it. 80s guitar player Rik Diesel (who kind of looks and sounds like a flea would) challenges Eddie Wilson (played by a Charles Bronson stand in) to a guitar dual and is skooled in teh blooze. After chasing him around he learns to simplify his playing and fame and fortune follow.

There is kind of a mystery theme to the movie and it has some good lines, although none as good as (IMHO) Crossroads, which pretty much has every cliche featured in online forums.

I will also include part 1 in the poll because others may have some opinions.

I think you need therapy to get over your obsession with the things other people enjoy.

Be honest. Show me on the doll where the bad bloozeman touched you.

I mean, I detest 99% of hair metal, yet I don’t go around making entire threads about spandex and Aqua-Net.

I thought for the time period both were really good. This is going to sound unbelievable but I had 'heard of' a Telecaster before Crossroads but the cover of the VHS rental box was the first time I ever remember actually seeing one.

This would have been before I even knew about GP or GFTPM.

Martone with pleated khakis, fedora, tucked in tennis shirt - years before TGP. Clapton was probably in his SLO phase when this came out!

Note Blind Dogg Fulton (aka Willie Brown, grandfather of Nathan)'s Mississippi string tie.[IMG]

Only one of these movies has Ry Cooder playing in it.

I will watch either one any chance I get. EC2 is not a great movie but the music is pretty good. EC2 has Marina Orsini, Crossroads has Jamie Gertz. Toss up there.

I didn’t shut off either....so I don’t think either were terrible. Crossroads over the Cruisers though. The Jersey band format is a little repelling.

Crossroads is a guilty pleasure for me, I was just getting into the Blues and in particular Robert Johnson when it came out. Because of the movie I discovered Ry Cooder, Sonny Terry and indirectly, Robert Jr. Lockwood who I went and saw play in '85 and years later would meet and open a show for.
Yeah it's schlocky and cheesy but has damn good music and Jamie Gertz!

Haven't seen Eddie and Cruisers since it came out and never saw the sequel.
