When the equally well dressed cops say "Manos Arribas" they mean it...
That is interesting - I never noticed .
Yes, I was going to comment on that. A sharp-eyed historian noticed the loading gate was wrong on the rifle in the “left-handed” picture—that rifle was only manufactured in one configuration so therefore the picture had been printed mirror image, a common practice for that style of photography apparently.
So all the folks who thought Billy the Kid was left-handed were incorrect, he was a righty.
Now I’m bummed...
I really want to see a resurgence of the fedora. Classy beyond compare!
Worst topic ever shat.
you must not spend a lot of time in The Bad Dog lol
I'll elevate it another level - for at least a decade I used to gig with my dad every New Years Eve, and we wore tuxedos. I always enjoyed breaking out the tux for a gig.
My dad retired ten years ago and died of COVID last year, but I still have my tux in the closet. Wishful thinking, I guess.
Yeah but some of them look dam cute in their PJ’s. Sometimes I really get a rise out of it.
Hats are making a comeback in contemporary Christian and P&W music.
I am though glad we are past the beanie phase...
Well if those same guys got arrested today looking like that they would have their fancy clothes taken away and be put in prison garb and not be given their Fedora for the mugshot today, and they'd look nowhere near as dapper.
Todays criminals are as best dressed as those from days gone by. I am sure this is not an off the rack suit at Brooks Brothers...
When we moved from our old police station to the new one , lots of charge books were found upto the 1960s and were full of photographs like these and all the charges were written by hand in copper plate (no pun intended) handwriting. Sadly we could keep them, and even more sadly, the same family names cropped up over nearly a hundred years
Of course, they (and everyone else) very likely wore those same clothes every day for everything they did. Maybe they rotated the underclothes. Maybe.
The best money can buy.
I was genuinely shocked when Madoffs possessions went up for auction. About the nicest thing I could say about the scum was that, for the most part, he spent those peoples money on genuinely quality items. Usually those types go for flash over substance and buy whatever is most expensive just because they can. We used to call it conspicuous consumption.
As Woody said "some will rob you with a six gun and some with a fountain pen"
Yes, as through this world I've wandered
I've seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.
