Good ol days when EVERYONE wore suits

    I like wearing suits:(

    Edit:

Rare historical shots of Australian criminals?

Wasn’t Australia claimed by the British as a penal colony?

    How rare could it be?

No offense to our Aussie brethren, love you guys

Now people can't get even get up the gumption to change out of their pajamas to go to the grocery store, or even the airport.

I managed retail for a miserable portion of my life and wore a suit or sportcoat every day. One thing I did come to appreciate were how cuts vary from maker to maker. And how much better it is when a suit actually fits. I still have a comically large number of clothes from back then.

I also have a few thousand sales on Ebay selling mostly mens formalwear. Suits, ties, dress shirts, shoes etc. I had a very bad habit of keeping a really nice piece I would find now and then that was my size. Multiply that be 10 years and you end up with some really stuffed closets. Sometimes I make up an excuse just to work some of it into the rotation.

Move to Texas people still wear hats here pretty regularly. Fedoras, stetson open road, plus your regular standard Stetson straw cowboy hats are pretty common. Boots, stetson hat, and western shirt can pass as formal wear for weddings and other events. You haven't lived until you seen a guy in western wear with a huge belt buckle step out of a Prius.

I’ve never been uncomfortable in a suit, back in my unemployed drinking days I wore a suit almost everyday

Not so much now but when I can I’ll put one on

The right hat makes the look for those times when the state militia is called out to arrest you, as they did with my great-great uncle...

I could never be a criminal.
I have no sense of style, and I covet nothing.
I guess I’ll stick with string wranglin’.

Ned Kelly was the original eccentric Aussie crim.

Just quietly, prior to US independence, Britain routinely transported her excess poor people, convicted of mostly petty property crime, to the American colonies.
