Creston Whitewash Finish

    It almost looks like colortoned whitewash. I can't figure out the aged amber parts though. I like it. Post if you figure it out. I'm interested.

    Whatever it is, it's semi-opaque with color added, kind of like a butterscotch blond. You could mix it in lacquer, adding only a little white pigment and tinting to taste. Alternately, I've seen similar finishes from oil paints mixed in a BLO derivatives, such as Tru Oil or Danish Oil. It'd give you the benefit of wiping on and off as necessary, which might be good for producing that slightly mottled look.

    I think I would get a whitewash pickling stain and see if I could achieve that blue by tinting it with a trans tint. It should be doable.
