I’ve dabbled with Fender’s mod shop and crafted my dream Telecaster:

I’m a not a Baby Blue/Daphne Blue fan in general but I really like how it looks on a Telecaster paired with a mint green pickguard and maple fretboard.

Goodness, I would trade my #1 for this..

Any of my Bad dog family dabbled around with Fender’s Mod Shop? Please share!

I have done quite a few but I can't get the Tele I want because they don't offer an HS pickup configuration. Plus I can't get vintage style tuners with the neck I want.

I have however come close to my desired Strat. Fiesta Red with an HSS configuration.

It's all academic. I have all the guitars I need and have purchased my last electric (or acoustic for that matter).

Forgive me, but is Fender's Mod Shop an online thingie, sort of like a car manufacturer's 'build your Chevy Tahoe' app?

Looks like a classic 50's series tele. I'm pretty sure they make a dead ringer for that only with more amber tint on the neck and probably a one ply white guard. .

I did that a few days ago. I ended up with an American Professional with a black pickguard and locking tuners. Hmmm, I wonder how I could save $200?

That Tele is exactly what my American Special from CME looks like that cost $999.

It was a CME exclusive last year but you could check to see if they have any left and save $800 vs Fender’s Mod Shop.

I saw that.. CME had 50 of them on sale. I think Reverb has one the last time I checked.

Yes, I felt that too. Dare I say it, Gibson had this same thing years ago (10+) and it worked much better.

The Mod Shop version is an American Professional with different neck shape, pickups and frets plus a hard shell case.

To me it’s a $300 premium above a stock AmPro Tele for the color you really want.

I agree.. Daphne Blue is an anomaly. Fender has the Vintera and Nashville Telecaster between ~$800-$999.

My only other option is Fender Mod Shop or Fender Custom Shop.

Quite a big jump if you ask me!
