The burning question of our time.
I was behind a fellow in the checkout line the other day and he was buying a carton of cream for his coffee. He was telling the young cashier that was normal when he was a kid. It made me recall those days when, as a child, my mom would put a server of cream on the table in the morning for us to use in coffee. There was no such thing as half-and-half back in the day. It also jarred my memory of a time when milk was delivered to your house in glass bottles and there was a thick layer of cream at the top of every bottle.
It made me wonder how many people still use cream in their coffee rather than the more common half-and-half.

2% or higher milk anything lower is just white water.
If on the road, ya, half and half.

I generally drink mine black. I will use cream or half & half it is in the fridge (usually due to Mrs cooking) before it expires. I keep sweetened condensed milk in the fridge door, and use it for the last cup of the day (sometimes). But, mostly black for me.

Half and half. My wife insists on the fat-free version.

I'm 62, and I remember the Alexandria Dairy ( VA), daily milk truck delivery, and our outside milk box with glass bottles...

Don't ask me why, (I know this is goofy)
but for some reason, the first 10 years or longer of the 40 years my wife and I have been drinking coffee (say 1980- early '90's) we used to put 2% milk AND a spoonful of Coffee-Mate ( fake, milk powder) in our Folgers coffee.
It was just a way to make coffee richer.

One weekend, when my older brother and his wife were visiting us from New England, and I was fixing them some coffee, he was watching our weird procedure and he asked, kind of 'wise-*ss academically' ( he has a big brain):

" Have you ever considered Half-and- Half?"

We never looked back after that!

1%, 2% or skim in that order. Tastes kind of like cappuccino. Lost my love for the milk fat coating my tongue except on special occasions with a big slice of cake.
Also, will drink black before I use non-dairy creamers.

cream. No one would ever buy tickets for a band called "half and half."

My wife uses cream for cooking something. I dunno, I drink my coffee black though.

I’ve dialed back the sugar over the years, from way too much as a teen into my twenties to just two in my thirties. Switched to one sugar and one stevia in my forties, to one stevia in late forties. Now no sweetener (I’m sweet enough) but always half & half 30+ years.

This is actually where I am at as well. I dated a Colombian woman in college whose father grew beans and I would've had no chance with her had I not learned to drink it black.

Drinking regular black coffee makes getting coffee at the local shops easy(er).

The waiting in line is not any better, but once there it goes quick.

    "2 small drips, please."

We walk away with our coffee, while there is quite a crowd waiting for their custom coffee drinks.
