I've been planning this guy for some time, just wish a bacterial lung infection hadn't interfered, AGAIN

As always with me, there's a story here . Some years back after trying to salvage something from my 36 year old autistic son's destroyed chairs I kept the bottoms and burned the rest (hey in the BBQ). It was all Malaysian oak, a wood lots of furniture used to be made from and I fell in love with. My current unfinished build, Tweety is an example. Though technically some sort of rubber tree it's quite heavy and dresses to one inch, barely and needs a top and usually hollowed out. Here is the latest victim I started over 2 years ago and had to stop then, it will become this build

As you can see, you have to plug the legs
Now I designed this many years ago and have only kinda built one, my 9 12 string actually almost complete. First thing I was accused of was ripping off an ES335 but as you'll see, not even close. More a serious rocker (not even my wheelhouse)
My body pattern from long ago

    CD1627.jpg

And no not a Snakehead ripoff either lmao, just a placeholder because my necks although resembling a Snakehead are far removed, scarfed headstock, wooden binding etc.
Here is some hardware I've collected

    received_917477029055413.jpeg

Hardtail for sure, and although the mini humbuckers are me now (9.1 and 8.1) the full humbuckers that I used to do Strat mods with (14.8 and 13.8) were the original idea. Also a gentle German carve etc (see what can happen in misspent youth?). So come along and God willing and the creek don't rise welcome to my nightmare lmfao

At least THAT is somewhat normal for me

i like the 'my design box' already:lol::D:lol::D
the less things choak up in there, the more we will see of your build.
will u go for armrest and belly cut?
you would gain playing comfort and loose some weight.

don't bother what other might ore might not say what things look like.
we are stick to some things that will always be to make and play a guitar.
all cars have round wheels, tires and rims, something to sit on, etc.
form follows function so go for it.

you solved one problem i always have with humbuckers and the rings
the bridge will be even wide and i already like that:twisted:

Dave, I see you are at it once again in the middle of the night.. We should name this build "
The Midnight Rider"! The body shape is pleasing to the eye. Since it's from a chair maybe we should call it the "AssCaster" or the "SwampAssCaster" or since it's been destroyed, the "KickAssCaster". Building guitars in the middle of the night might not be a great idea! The mind wanders:(

The one of these seats I've already used (a rocking chair, much larger) I used some red spruce the Despot had (but had no idea) . it gave me an extra 3/4" thickness for very little weight and flip matched almost looking like an acoustic top. I also love sycamore so I'm sniffling around lol

Don't really have anything here I like for the fretboard. Used red oak (I really like it) on my Guild knockoff mahogany neck. And this is South American mahogany, kinda orange tinge so need something pretty light or dark to contrast. I have several maple blanks, it's getting a little old to me. Hmmmm

Now I can do my scarf joint, need to look for scrap for the headstock wings. Don't need much and I never throw any away :)

Stash box #1, my headstock binding :D, may do fretboard I haven't decided. MAY do a laminated fretboard, haven't in a few years. All this fancy wood everybody seems to have is giving me a complex
