I've been slightly morose the last few days..
Casualties from plane crashes, train derailments, and without a doubt, THE worst domestic violence incident i can remember.. Also a terrible case of bullying of a 9yo has made the news in the last day or two that fortunately has seen some wonderful people intercede and show some incredible human character, but it's been a tough few days down here..

    Human animals are amazing!
They can be utterly altruistic, and utterly evil.
Planes crash, trains derail, murders and miracles occur.
Our lives are fragile, and our resilience is amazing.
I appreciate this now more than ever as my time grows shorter.
I wish you and your countrymen peace.
    It’s all I can do.
I also hope the turmoil eases.
    It will, but only temporarily.

That sounds horrible, I haven't watched the news for some years now. It got too depressing and I figured it's not healthy or normal to be confronted with that kind of constant negativity.
I know it's the new normal but it's not a natural occurrence to be aware of so many negative issues going on around you.

I'm actually nervous about checking the news in case there's more horror stories..

My wife sometimes cries that everything seems to be getting worse and worse when she reads a sad story. I tell her that news is really just infotainment, it's a business and bad news sells. We live in what I call The Age Of Anxiety. Why? Because all our devices are working 24/7 to bring us bad/scary news. Thanks devices.

A lot of news articles I simply don't read. I see the headline. That's enough. Bad things happen. Got it. And then I move on. I can feel depressed all on my own. Don't need help. Again, thanks devices.

Cold. Perhaps, but I prefer to think of it as self preservation.

When all else fails, just repeat:
