My Tweaker 15 head and cab arrived today! Thought I wouldn’t have room and something would have to go, but it fits perfectly underneath my roll-top desk.

It’s a neat little amp. Very Fender-y, which I guess makes sense since I’ve heard it’s based off of a Fender circuit. I like that it has an effects loop, which my Tonemaster DR doesn’t have, and I like the bright switch. Wish it had a foot switch and reverb, but those are concessions I’ll gladly make at this price.

Most of all, I’m a vain creature, and it’s an awfully handsome piece of kit.

Like a lot of musicians I check local Craigslist regularly. I saw an Egnator Rebel 30 Mark II head and cab come up, and watched it for a couple weeks. Nobody jumped on it it and the guy dropped the price. I snagged it for $350. I run the tube blend knob at noon for a balance between the warmth of the 6V6s and the brightness of the EL84s. At an outdoor festival gig the soundman took the xlr out on back to the PA instead of micing the cab. That sounded great in the mix.

‘Nother New Cab Day…saw this and nabbed it to go with my Tweaker 15/112x rig, since Egnater has rolled up the carpets. Equipped now.

I have two of these cabinets. They’re identical except for the speakers. One is the older model with the G12H-30 Anniversary, one is the newer model with the Elite 50. The 50 is much tighter and brighter. The 30 is warmer and mellower. When I run them both, it’s just perfect. Best sounding 1x12 cabs I’ve ever had. They aren’t going anywhere.

I got the head but they aren't getting any more cabs. I'm disappointed but if I keep the head it's only 325.

I still haven't been able to find corroboration of the fact that Egnater is done. I asked my Sweetwater guy about it, and he hadn't heard anything, but is checking with the vendor rep.

That sucks they took your order and can't grandfather you a cab somehow. Maybe ask if they'll approve a Rebel cab at the deal price.

Old thread and deal but now the Tweaker head is $359 for a demo on Sweetwater.
Just spent my Christmas gift $$ on a Quilter Superblock UK, normally $299 but got one new for $259.
Still probably the riht choice since I want to try living on the dark side and may end up liking it there?
Super portable looks better as I get older N s#1t.

Sold my tweaker head to my brother, along with one of my cabs. Liked the head but the problem I had with it was that i couldn't quite get the crunch I wanted from the clean, and the dirt channel was too dirty for what I was looking for. I kept one of the cabs though, and @Jakedog is right it's a fabulous cab! Mine was s/h and has the G12 in it. Like his, even though mine isn't used much atm I wont be getting rid of it!

At some point, I may procure a longer speaker cable and place the second cab in the adjacent corner. This is good for now…I’ll put them away in a couple of days to protect them fm the grandkids roughhousing over the holidays.

Ok, I got the head for 300 plus tax. No go on a Rebel cab and Im a combo guy so I don't have any other cabs around. For that price, I'm keeping it.

I can still get a new one for 350 but would prefer to spend less.

Yeah, one of the super cool “tweaks” you can do to this amp, is stuff in pretty much any power tube you want without need for bias or mods. It’s a lot of fun to see what they do.
Jakedog , I think it was your thread I saw about a year ago concerning using EL34s in Tweakers , so I tried that , and I agree it was a great improvement ! Unfortunately I had to sacrifice it due to divorce . I had to take the vent screen off to install them if I remember correctly . Really liked the EL34s though .

I put a pair of JJ EL34II in my Tweaker this afternoon, replacing the OEM 6V6. Sweet! Mellowed it out nicely and eliminated a bit of a treble spike…which could have either been the 6V6s or the bright speakers. In any event, it’s in the groove now.

I did have to remove the top grille to install the taller tubes and conjure some short spacers to keep it off the tube tops. Easy day.
