I'm in an odd cover band of mostly older weekend warriors, and we're on the hunt for some new covers to work on. Figured I could crowdsource some suggestions. Helpful context: we're a five-piece (two guitars, bass, drums, and a female singer). The lead guitar player can do some rudimentary keyboards where necessary, but we mostly don't. The bass player can do a passable lead vocal, and a pretty excellent harmony vocal. With the exception of that harmony vocal, and our very good lead guitar player, our overall competence level is fairly low. We're bar band bruisers at best.

Currently, our setlist has a lot of older rock n' roll, mostly 12-bar blues and boogie woogie sorta things (Johnny B. Goode, Roll Over Beethoven, Hot Legs, Keep Your Hands to Yourself, One After 909). There are a handful of 90s rock songs as well (Learn to Fly by Foo Fighters; Low by Cracker) and we have a few 2000s pop songs (Valerie, Rolling in the Deep, Watermelon Sugar).

Looking for some suggestions of songs that will be fun to play, and fun to hear for slightly drunk people in a crappy Central Florida bar. TIA

"Locomotion" and "Some Kind of Wonderful" by Grand Funk.
Both great dance/party songs, really easy, hardly ever hear 'em.
And throw some Warren Zevon in there for fun.
"Lawyers, Guns, and Money" or "Werewolves of London" are crowd pleasers.
He also wrote "Poor Poor Pitiful Me."
And howzabout some more Linda Ronstadt? She did some great stuff.
Everybody loves Eagles too. Great for harmony vocals.
"Seven Bridges Road" and "Take it Easy" are no-brainers, as is "Lyin' Eyes" to slow it down.
"Mister Wrong" is my favorite Cracker tune. Works as a country tune.

We have a couple that comes out and requests Brown Eyed Girl, you would think everyone would be sick of it but it always crowds the floor. Copperhead Road is so simple it's stupid but people still love it and don't forget to put a John Cash song in there somewhere.

Stacies Mom by Fountains of Wayne
Shooting star (andi absolutely HATE Bad company, but that's an ok song)
I'm the only one or crimson and clover get people into it.

Ummm...
Semi Charmed life used to get people smiling. That was 10+ years back though, haven't seen people cover it in ages.

You want to see a bunch of drunk 30 year old females hit the floor like a millennial flood, Mr Brightside by the Killers has "done it" since that frickin song came out. Also She will be loved by maroon 5. Those seem odd for a female singer, but they work when sang right, so there's that in your favor.

'Money' - Barrett Strong
'Shakin' All Over' - Johnny Kidd & The Pirates
'Train Kept A Rollin' ' - Johnny Burnette Trio/Motorhead inspired version.
'Tiger Feet' - Mud
'Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers' - ZZ Top The switch between singers'd work well
'Honey Hush' - Play it like Paul McCartney did on the 'Run Devil, Run' album. Allow your lead guitarist to flex his inner Mick Green.
'Baby One More Time' - Britney Spears tune, but Richard Thompson it up.
'Immigrant Song' - LZ - Easier than you think for everyone aside from the singer.
'Rock&Roll' - LZ - See above, but it's a little easier on the vocal chords.
'Peter Gunn/Baby Elephant Walk/Mayhem On An E String' - The Pirates/Doctor's order. You can transition to 'Gloria' partway through, then back seamlessly.

We used to have a gal come up and sing a few Sheryl Crow songs. Lori had the pipes, wish we had her sing a few more songs.
We'd do The Difficult Kind, Favorite Mistake and If It Makes You Happy. None of these are too hard.
