Went from a Les Paul to a Tele and had always used .10 -.46 Daddarios. Thinking that .09's might be more comfortable and just wanted some of your thoughts about strings and gauges for country with lots of bends.

It depends on what you like, lots of different players use different sizes and brands. Redd Volkaert uses .11's, while Brent Mason uses .09's. Just experiment with different gauges and brands.

D'Addario EXL110. Used to use 9's but switched to 10's for a little fatter sound.

Marty Stuart uses D'addario XLs 10s ( I do too... ) if that's any indication, but then again James Burton is known for using really light strings so, as others said it's a matter of preference.

I've played .10s for about the last 15 years and am just trying out some .09s. I like them but they just feel a tad to loose to me. Been about a month with them and will probably switch back. But that's me.

I have D'Addario 10's on two of my Tele's and EB Super Slinky's 9's on another. The 9's are kind of fun to play but they seem to lose too much fatness. The 10's have that and aren't a whole lot harder to bend IMHO. I just think it depends in your style and your preference. I'm not surprised that James Burton uses a very light gage string. To me the type of chickin' pickin' he does works better on a lighter gauge string.

All my Teles are strung up with DR pure blues 9's... I tune to E flat though. The 9's help with arthritis!

You are 29years old and have arthritis? Is it early onset or genetic?

I use a set that I have put together myself. It is very balanced and easy to work with.

Pretty much any brand.
