Looking for some song recommendations for slide in open G. So far I’ve been having fun with Traveling Riverside Blues and If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day. I’m hoping to add a couple more blues rockers to that.

    Ideas?

    Since you clearly like Blues.....

Almost anything by Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Little Walter or Hound Dog Taylor will work- whichever tunes you like the best.

The key really suits my limited vocal range, so I also do songs like 'Reconsider Baby' and 'I'm just your fool', in G.

Blues-rocky shuffles? Try 'Statesboro Blues' and 'Crossroads'.

Cooler grooves? 'Hip Shake' or 'My Babe', perhaps?

I think we did all of these, at Saturday's show, except for 'Crossroads'. Sometimes I'll play Muddy songs in D or E- maybe use a capo on the G tuning , if someone else is singing...…

Loads of fun to be had....good luck.

I like to play Lucinda Williams- Lake Charles in Open G, though it was recorded in A. Works great.

Same with Zeppellin- In my time of dying. Works fine, even though the original tuning was a full step higher.

Thats the fun of open tunings. You can also move licks between open G/A and D/E by moving one string over.
