Wow, this has a really campy intro but the performance isn’t lip synced. Gotta love those costumes, too.

I just know that even as a kid I loved music maybe a little bit too much.

It fascinated me and my radio was my best friend, as we did a lot of moving/travelling.

Seems that "electrical banana" was referring to a guy who called himself "Banana" and played electric(al) piano in the Youngbloods. I think Donovan was predicting great things for the Youngbloods, who had a hit that year (1966) with "Grizzly Bear" and came back three years later with "Get Together."

So many great songs in the '60s, I can't even begin to contribute anything else to this thread. I lived through that era.

    This is equal silliness/pop pathos.

Oh yeah, and nothing is more pop than Eurovision winners and this is the coolest... Luxembourg, '65, written by Serge Gainsbourg...

I think someone had been listening to John Lennon and The Beatles.

You may not know that Spooky was originally released as an instrumental a year before lyrics were added and recorded by the Classics IV.

Here's what it really sounded like on the set while they were lip synching this song:

I always preferred this pop to the 80s remake:
