mid 50's. Where I get it from...
Great pix! Where is it taken and any idea what he is playing?
That’s a guitar.
Very cool! Here’s mine (on the left) with his dad and brothers circa 1936 ...
I always liked this one. Pretty sure my mom took it.
Cool pix. Thanks
Another great pic!
Looks like they're in the middle of the great dust storm.
All very cool.
Pic from 1937 of my folks.
I took the liberty of messing with this photo to see if I could get it to 'pop' a bit better. It's an excellent photo to begin with, so it was relatively easy.
Love old school pics! Here's a pic of my dad's band back in the 60s (he's the Roy Orbison look-alike sax player):
I tried like hell to get that lefty Strat, but it's gone
I dug out some old pics I haven't looked at in many years.
My folks married in '37. My mom was 21 years old and had bright red hair.
She was ~5'4" and looks tiny on that horse.
As I've written before, not everyone suffered during the great depression. My dad was a geologist and they were relatively well off.
Still, my mom was strongly influenced by the depression and was extremely frugal throughout her life.
Later in life when she was economically comfortable it amused me to no end when she would hit the resale shops wearing her Patek Philippe.
I dated a woman who looked EXACTLY like this in 1988, except she wasn't wearing jodhpurs. Spooky
