I just picked this up last week. There are definitely some more modern parts on it. I know the pots are from 84. The bridge pup is a Duncan tapped 53. Tuners aren't original. Neck pup may be original. It plays and sounds amazing. Probably had a refret at some point. It's a player and I got a very good deal on it. Just wondering if anyone can chime in on thoughts about it. I'm new to vintage Fender. I do know that I LOVE this guitar!

What's the neck profile like? Looks like a monster of a neck!

    Looks legit to me.

Very very nice. Congrats. If it bothers you you can always keep an eye out for period correct pots and a pickup. I say for now enjoy that beauty. Damn that’s nice

Thanks. I don't mind the pots or tuners being "wrong". I just want to play it!

At home she sounds glorious thru my '67 Bassman into either my Fuchs 1x12 or my 3rd Power 3x12. My normal gigs won't allow me that wonderful volume so I gig with my Kemper. And the '53 sounds amazing thru the '56 Pro profiles and the '72 Marshall. Hell, everything I've plugged this one into sounds great. I'm a happy camper for sure!

Fun fact with this one, I bought it from Seymour Duncan himself. And I have to say he has to be one of the nicest human beings ever. Honestly a great guy. Buying this guitar came with some amazing stories and some great conversations. It's been a truly awesome couple of weeks!

Fantastic. Who gives a toss about pots anyway as long as they are the right value and do what they should? If it plays great, you love it and....well, it's been lovingly curated by Mr. Duncan, you've got yourself a gem.

That is a beautiful guitar. Write down the stories so they can travel with the guitar in time.

my 53 partscaster body and neck are dated March 1953. Just within one month of yours.

It is awesome to own such a beautiful instrument and I bet you feel the same way. Enjoy.
