Because it's 2am, OF COURSE I'm playing around on MSPaint (now just Paint) making fiddly switch diagrams. I'm not sure how the wiring would work, I just know what I want going on and so far, I have this...

Opinions welcome, but if your question is essentially "why...?", the answer already is "why not?" or "because it's there".

    Anyway, off to bed.

Have you ever played with a full neck humbucker and a bridge single coil? I actually like it better than splitting the neck as yours shows. Just a thought as I don't see that choice much in these types of builds but it gets baked into mine as default. Preference, of course, but I wonder how often people give it a listen.

    You'll need a Superswitch.

    I say Go with it!
If you don't like it, change it.

But, I think you are on to something that will work well for many different situations.

    Cheers

It's definitely a consideration, because atm pos. 2 and 4 are pretty much the same. Maybe change pos 4 for bridge and neck together. Obviously I'd have to hear the diff configurations before settling.

Yuck....mini-switches were the cheap, easy way out for 80s. Terrible....

A "Superswitch" offers considerably more config options than the standard 5 way. The CP50 Strat comes standard with a Superswitch, wired for N, N/B, M, M/N, and N pickup options. And the 57/62 pickups that are on that model have a RW/RP middle pickup...the 57/62 set you can buy OTC does not have a RW/RP middle pickup.

You might look into the Freeway 5B5, which does most of that for you. Put a Duncan Triple Shot ring around the humbucker and you'll be able to select either coil individually or dual series/parallel.
