    used a little saw to lightly groove the spots

    used file to make them a little deeper

    put a little glue in the slot

    clamped the nut down

    then strung it up

    checked to make sure frets where in right place

    adjusted the strings to about 4/64" between top of 17th fret and bottom of strings

    my way, with a square file

    pressing down between second and third fret and measure .018 btween string and first fret

    and do the rest

    did I mention I measured from the bottom of the nut

    to the bridge saddle to get a close setup, I didnt think so, but I did

    then I tuned it up and played a little tune

    oh yeah, then I filed the nut down to the string tops and made it look pretty

    Incredible...just incredible. I just found this thread and spent the last 90 minutes reading it. Your next project should definitely be a how-to book...including the jigs. Now, ya got me thinkin'...I've got several old 3x9x30 Douglas fir stair treads in the garage....hmmmmmm.

    LOVE IT!!! looks like a $1,000,000 not $100. Also, your house is in an amazing spot. The Manatee under and around the house are so cool. As always, a great thread here.

    Oh, did I miss the story behind the Tele Fishing pole there in the background? I would not believe such a thing exist if I had seen it associated with anyone else. But here, well just expected I guess.
