Great to see another Scatter Lee build thread, and it doesn't disappoint. The Strat looks fantastic and it's all achieved with minimal tools. Very inspiring.

Looking forward to seeing this one completed.

Gorgeous work. So your lacquer doesn't need like 3 weeks of curing time?

not in 100 degree weather, i could not scratch or dent it with my fingernail after a few min. in the sun and two days under the ceiling fan in cool dry air. shot Behlen clear from stu-mac straight from the can, no thinning, didn't shoot it with 100 coats, it was pretty thin

scraped the lacquer off the finger board, didn't like the gloss on there either, then oiled it up

How long did it take to scrape the fretboard?

Also, the guitar looks amazing and I'm jealous that you have gator friends helping you out.

    Lisa,
I think you would like Florida! Snakes and gators and whatnot. And best of all, no snow in the garage.

It just keeps on getting better scatter! I like the fret board being just oiled and not so glossy. It sure looks good on the rest of the guitar though.

a question- do you use a backer for your sandpaper when you wet sand? I didnt see any thing in the photo. also do you buff with a cloth or some sort of power tool?

edit: what kind coping saw blades do you use for fretting and everyday things? And where do ya get them? I was gonna cut my body shape with one but home depot didnt have the blades.
