I like the feel of the trapezoidal neck. For further info google Rick Toone who is an innovative luthier in the US

Great decal. Good aussie contingent this year.

Never seen a neck profile like that. Its got me thinking....

The detail in the finishing us really coming through now. Cant wait to see it strung up.

Having totally screwed up the simple act of making a new scratchplate the other day, I find your level of artistry galling.

Haven't posted for about a week but have still been plodding along. Have sort of finished the build just tidying up a few things and changing some things. Originally I was going to have an on-board preamp which was switchable but it actually put out way to much amplitude and was not doing what I intended it to do, so will have to redesign it a bit and see if I can cut the gain without effecting the quality of the output. The idea was to use it for rhythm guitar and then by flicking the switch it would go up a notch for a lead break and then switch back to "rhythm"........You get the picture. I'll do it but running out of time to sign off on this now.
The video is the hardest part of the exercise for me and will take some time I fear.

Finished it off and strapped it on and it was slightly neck heavy, so I utilised the now empty preamp/battery holder cavity and filled it with fishing sinkers and now its balance is just right.

I also had a problem with the bridge pickup. After being playable for about 3 days or so it decided to throw in the towel. Pulled out and discovered a whisker of wire shorting out to the shield. Back to where I was 3 days ago now.

The set up was a breeze with my home made independent bridge/retainer units and now if you wished you are able to tune it using the harmonics on the 12th, 7th and 19th frets. Really pleased with the playability of the trapezoid neck and the binding nibs, it is probably a bit too slippery for these old fingers.

    Some pics follow!

Yeah I did mate, it was a hair of wire about .5mm long just making contact with the base of the magnets. These are only cheap Chinese pickups. but I have been using them for a couple of years because they are quiet and the coils are wound to almost 6K. They only have one model, no bridge wind or neck wind but I find I can even them up with PU height.

Some things from China are good.........Take my wife for example.....,,,,,PLEASE!

I thought I better do a post to keep in play. I have spent most of the day repairing my Canon camera remote control, hell it cost all of $5.00 so worth a day of my time. Took some pics after I eventually found the tripod so I shall put one up here. Also just adjusted my string guides a 15th of a poofteenth, a couple were binding a little. Tweaked the intonation ever so slightly, and now all I have to do is the video thang which I hate!!!!!

    Hey Phil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For your listening and dancing pleasure!

Gidday young Phil! Thanks mate, it plays rather smoooove as well.

It's come to the video horrendous time again, I did a demo run today and managed to convert it to a mov file but it was way too large but only a try out to see if my amp and mic still worked. If I get stuck I'll give you a shout.;)

Lots of great builds again this year, was hoping to see you on board.

Getting ready to close this thread so better attach some final pix.

I have managed to make a little video and posted it on U-tube and can play it ok but find I'm having trouble attaching to the TDPRI post. Anyone know how?? Sadly all this stuff just eludes me.
