I think the black panel era amps had a flip-out ashtray installed in the back...But where are the cigarette burns on the amp? Maybe that is a Tweed thing. The smell of burnt plastic does teach people fast.
6 volt cigarette lighter, socket tapped right off the PT, is my guess. 6 volt cars had cigarette lighters you know...
Lighter part pretty cheap and easy. Even the extra hole in the faceplate isn't so bad (probably doesn't make "cents" to do this to an actual Bassman).
The 12VDC power supply is part I'm struggling to figure. Maybe just a wall wart and a barrel connector on the back of the amp? Use a 2.5mm so you don't mistake it for a pedal power supply?

Yeah, well......... the whole idea is not a good thang! Not sure if that's a good idea, a lighter must draw like 10A.
Maybe loading the 6.3V starves the filaments and produces a unique brown sound.Yeah, well......... the whole idea is not a good thang!![]()
