But where are the cigarette burns on the amp? Maybe that is a Tweed thing. The smell of burnt plastic does teach people fast.

Lighter part pretty cheap and easy. Even the extra hole in the faceplate isn't so bad (probably doesn't make "cents" to do this to an actual Bassman).

The 12VDC power supply is part I'm struggling to figure. Maybe just a wall wart and a barrel connector on the back of the amp? Use a 2.5mm so you don't mistake it for a pedal power supply?
6 volt cigarette lighter, socket tapped right off the PT, is my guess. 6 volt cars had cigarette lighters you know...

So, I have a Bassman 25 and thought, "Self, maybe there's a mod in this thread appropriate for this one since it needs repair already". Well, that's a nope. I feel so disillusioned 😞

I can see where that would make sense (to someone) in the 60s/70s playing in smoky clubs. A lot of guys played with a cigarette dangling out of their mouths. I've got a 62 strat with burns on the headstock where a lit cig was stuck behind the strings.

That amp looks like a real freak show. I would love to know what the switch and extra knob do...and what other "features" were added to that amp.
